Delve into the world of baking with a touch of Mary Berry’s magic. Today, we’re thrilled to unveil our Tempting Mary Berry-Inspired Banana Loaf. This delightful creation brings together the natural sweetness of ripe bananas and the expert guidance of one of baking’s icons. Let’s embark on a baking journey that’s sure to satisfy your taste buds and warm your heart.

Ingredients:

  • 100g Softened Butter
  • 175g Caster Sugar
  • 2 Large Eggs
  • 2 Ripe Bananas (mashed)
  • 225g Self-Raising Flour
  • 1 tsp. Baking Powder
  • 2 tbsp. Milk

Method:

  1. Oven Preheating: Begin by preheating your oven to 180C / Fan 160C / Gas 4. This ensures your Banana Bliss Loaf bakes to perfection.
  2. Prepare the Loaf Tin: Lightly grease a 2lb loaf tin, then line both the base and sides with baking parchment. This step guarantees easy removal and a beautifully presented loaf.
  3. Mixing Magic: In a mixing bowl, measure out all the ingredients – softened butter, caster sugar, large eggs, mashed ripe bananas, self-raising flour, baking powder, and milk. With a touch of Mary Berry’s finesse, beat these ingredients for approximately 2 minutes, until the mixture is beautifully blended.
  4. Into the Tin: Spoon the perfectly blended mixture into the prepared tin, making sure to level the surface for an even bake.
  5. Baking Beauty: Place the tin into the preheated oven and let the magic happen. Allow the loaf to bake for about 1 hour, or until it rises magnificently and turns a golden brown hue. To test its readiness, insert a fine skewer into the center – it should come out clean when the loaf is perfectly baked.
  6. Cooling Elegance: After removing the tin from the oven, let the Banana Bliss Loaf cool within it for a few minutes. Then, with gentle anticipation, turn it out, peel off the parchment, and let it continue cooling gracefully on a wire rack.

Conclusion:

Voila! Your kitchen is now filled with the irresistible aroma of our Tempting Mary Berry-Inspired Banana Bliss Loaf. As you slice into this masterpiece, you’ll discover the harmony of flavors that only ripe bananas and Mary Berry’s expertise can create. Whether shared with loved ones over tea or savored as a solo treat, this loaf embodies the joy of baking in its simplest and most satisfying form.
