Aruba struck me the other when it was with food. I went there thinking that it was going to be the usual Caribbean resort foods and I walked out with 20+ places on the list I would fly back. Restaurants in Aruba are packed in this island, competing with large food cities.

The following is my raw, uncensored Aruba dining guide based on vibe, budget, and neighborhood. No nonsense, and all the spots that you can afford and your stomach.

Fine Dining Spots That Blew Me Away

I am not that kind of person who is excited at trying menus and prix fixe meals. But Aruba fine dining made my mind change. The culture of the chef table in this case is wild.

This scene was constructed basically by three chefs Dennis van Daatselaar, Urvin Croes and Erwin Husken. Their prints can be found on nearly every place of high end on the island.

Wilhelmina

“hidden garden restaurant at night, fairy lights, tropical plants, romantic courtyard dining, elegant European Caribbean vibe”

Wilhelmina is behind a gate, on Wilhelminastraat, in the heart of Oranjestad, and it is as though she is in a secret garden party. The court is well lit, there are tropical plants and this European-Caribbean vibe which is simply effective.

Chef Dennis van Daatselaar spent his training in the Michelin kitchens in the Netherlands and landed here. The foie gras ravioli that is braised short rib is unreal. Expect $50 to $100 per person. Only adults, open on Tuesday-Sunday at 6 PM.

Infini

“intimate chef table dining, small modern restaurant, tasting menu dishes, artistic plating, dark luxury interior, exclusive experience”

Only 14 seats. An 8-course tasting menu at 169 per head. Chef Ursvin Croes operates this small, dark, smooth noord room and all of his dishes are made with ingredients obtained through Aruban farmers.

It is the best restaurant in Aruba in case you are willing to have a dinner of a lifetime. Book weeks ahead. Wine pairing is an additional cost of 110. During off-season, the prices fall to 6 courses at 139.

2 Fools and a Bull

“chef cooking in front of guests, small group dining around bar, warm lighting, interactive fine dining experience”

A 1915 cunucu house. Seventeen guests max. It is a U-shaped form of the bar that would face Chef Erwin Husken as he prepares your surprise 5.5 course dinner. The entire night lasts approximately four hours, beginning with cocktail on the patio.

There are rules in a house, and they are mythical: no children, no phones, no vegetarians. Not kidding. On their site, that is literally $130 to 140 a person. Wine pairings from $70 to $130. Book in advance before you book your flights.

The Kitchen Table by White

“chef presenting dish to seated guests, modern open kitchen, rooftop sunset ambiance, luxury tasting experience”

Chef Urvin Croes hits again. This is a twelve seater experience at Blue Residences, Eagle Beach. It starts with cocktails on the rooftop Mirador at sunset and then you descend to Urvin, who is cooking in front of you.

Eight courses at a cost of 125 per head. Wine pairing $75. The menu changes every month and Urvin describes every single dish personally. Reviewed as 4.9 on OpenTable. No kids under 10.

Screaming Eagle

“restaurant with white canopy beds, guests dining on beds, romantic lighting, unique dining concept, luxury vibe”

It is a place where you can literally eat dinner in a bed. White canopy beds, wooden trays, the entire arrangement. It has a gimmicky tone, yet it is a valid fine dining Aruba experience in J.E. Irausquin Boulevard near Eagle Beach.

The Duck Liver Creme Brulee ($25) is ridiculous. The Tomahawk Ribeye 40 oz costs 250. Crepes Suzette are flambeed at the table. Estimate food cost at 60-120 USD per head.

Carte Blanche

“intimate chef table dining, guests seated around curved bar, chef plating gourmet dishes, open kitchen, elegant lighting, luxury restaurant atmosphere, Aruba”

The OG. This is where the whole movement of chef table in aruba began in 2010. Only 14 to 16 people at a curved granite bar in the open kitchen at Wilhelminastraat in Oranjestad.

The surprise menu is a 5 course menu that costs between 85 and 110 dollars. The evening starts with sparkling wine in the courtyard garden. This location essentially put the Aruba dining on the world map.

Restaurants on the Water: Sand Between Your Toes Dining

This is no joke, this is where Aruba stands totally out of all other islands of the Caribbean. The dining options available here are not mere picturesque backgrounds. Some of them literally drown your table in the sea.

Flying Fishbone

“seafood dinner in ocean water, couple dining with feet in water, sunset, tiki torches, romantic tropical setting”

Tables in the real shallow ocean water in Savaneta. Tiki torches. You eat with waves washing your feet. It is Aruba restaurants on the water which is at its very best. In business since 1997, and rightfully so.

Get the Seafood History platter or the blackened mahi mahi with pineapple salsa. They flambe Baked Alaska tableside too. Runs $75 to $120 per person. You should reserve the 4 PM seat a few months in advance to have the water tables.

Zeerovers

“casual seaside fish shack, fried fish baskets, wooden picnic tables over water, local Caribbean vibe, sunset crowd”

The anti-thesis of Flying Fishbone and perhaps the most entertaining meal in the whole island. Zeerovers is a bare bones fish pier on Savaneta, where you pay by weight at a counter, take a wooden number block and sit at picnic tables over the water.

Wahoo, snapper, mahi mahi, all fried with fresh Aruban spices. Dining out costs approximately 36 dollars per couple. Bring cash. Closed Mondays. Lines get long at sunset but they move fast. Best food in Aruba at a price.

Passions on the Beach

“romantic beach dinner setup, candles and tiki torches, white sand, sunset ocean view, couple dining”

Eagle Beach amuses into a romantic dinner at Amsterdam Manor each night. Sand tiki torches, live instrumental music and, frankly, one of the best proposals or anniversary spots in Aruba.

Coconut Grouper is solid. The Lobster tail (shrimp, barramundi) costs $69. Card only, no cash. With an OpenTable rating of 4.5 out of 5. Reserve a table at sunset.

Bugaloe Beach Bar and Grill

“lively beach bar on pier, people dancing, drinks, sunset party vibe, Caribbean music atmosphere”

Rather partying than dining. Bugaloe is located on De Palm Pier between Riu and Hilton on the Palm Beach. Five-night live music, karaoke on Wednesday and Saturday nights and singing waiters.

Crazy Fish Monday offers a grouper platter at 17 dollar. Happy hour between 5 and 6 PM and between 10 and 11 PM. Budget $10 to $20 per dish. Low key is one of the best casual places to eat in Aruba.

The Old Man and the Sea

“private overwater cabana dining, lantern lights, romantic night setting, ocean view, luxury couple dinner”

Hemingway is in Savaneta, right next to Flying Fishbone. Here there is the only private over-water dining cabana in Aruba, which is accessible by a dock and is illuminated by lanterns. Adults only (16+). Seriously romantic.

Stars are Caribbean seafood and keshi yena. In the case of non-resort guests, the reservation fee is 100 USD. Expect $60 to $100 per person. Worth it when you are celebrating something.

Where to Eat by Neighborhood

It is what the majority of guides in Aruba overlook. The location of your hotel dictates most of your evenings at restaurants, hence knowing when there is a concentration of restaurants in your area can save you as much time, money, and angry taxi trips.

Palm Beach (High-Rise Hotel Zone)

“busy Palm Beach Aruba restaurant strip, palm trees, nightlife, outdoor dining, luxury resorts, tropical evening atmosphere”

The busiest street in the island. Wedding walk to the Marriott and Hyatt, Hilton, Ritz-Carlton, or the new St. Regis. Restaurants in Aruba in this area are tourist orientated, though there are real gems within the plain sight.

Hit Azar because of open-fire Latin-Asian fusion (50-90 dollars). Steaks at the Marriott by Ruths Chris (Steaks: $80 to 150 and over). Gianni, classic Italian 40 to 70). The only wood-fired oven in Hostaria Da Vittorio in Aruba. Eduardo Beach Shack of acai bowls under 15.

Eagle Beach (Low-Rise Hotel Zone)

“romantic Eagle Beach Aruba sunset dining, tables on sand, tiki torches, ocean view, elegant beach restaurant”

More easy-going and amorous. The number of restaurants within walking distance is low, but the beachfront restaurants here can be considered being genuinely world-class. This is where you turn up at the Aruba restaurants with a view that really makes a difference to the food as well.

Screaming Eagle, Passions on the Beach, Madame Janette (famous Almond Grouper since 1999), The Kitchen Table, and the new brand Terra of Michelin-starred Chef Jeremy Ford at Bucuti and Tara Resort. Everything in one shopping spurt or ride.

Oranjestad (Downtown Capital)

“colorful Dutch colonial buildings Oranjestad, waterfront restaurants, night lights, outdoor dining, Caribbean city atmosphere”

Dutch colonial houses, the cruise port and Wilhelminastraat which has snuck silently into becoming a true culinary hot spot. Recently the harbourfront was revitalized with new pier-to-plate seafood. Aruba restaurants Oranjestad continue to improve.

The fine dining is anchored by Wilhelmina and Carte Blanche. The West Deck is stunning casual waterfront. Que Pasa has all-you-can-eat sushi on Wednesday, in an 18th-century merchant’s house, at a cost of 33 dollars. The TripAdvisor best-rated steakhouse on the island is L.G. Smith’s.

Savaneta (Fishing Village)

“small fishing village restaurant over water, wooden pier dining, sunset, local seafood restaurant, Aruba”

The former capital of Aruba, some 20 minutes south of Oranjestad. The freshest seafood, the most real atmosphere, and cheaper prices than the tourist areas. When you come once to leave your resort area, go to Savaneta.

Flying Fishbone, Zeerovers, The Old Man and the Sea and Marina Pirata (28-year-old family-owned boathouse). This is the place to dine in Aruba when you are in need of real island food rather than resort food.

Best Italian Restaurants and Steakhouses in Aruba

Two questions I keep witnessing every day, where is the best Aruba restaurants Italian food and where can steak lovers get to? Fair questions. Allow me to dissect both.

Italian Picks

“italian restaurant elegant interior, pasta prepared in parmesan cheese wheel, candlelight dinner, warm lighting, fine dining Italian food”

Ristorante Italiano of Gianni is a family owned restaurant that has had a history of around 30 years serving the Ferraras around Palm Beach. Their masterpiece is Spaghetti al Formaggio Parmigiano made on the table right in front of the audience in a real wheel of Parmesan and flamed with whisky. It is dramatic as it costs. 40-70.

In 2000 Master Chef Vittorio Muscariello opened Hostaria Da Vittorio across the road in front of the Hyatt. It has the only genuine wood-fired oven of Aruba. The Branzino al Sale (sea bass in a crust of salt) is unbelievable. Casa Nonna at the Ritz-Carlton provides a wonderful fit to the high-end niche by Roman-Tuscan cuisine and live violin.

Steakhouse Picks

“luxury steakhouse interior, juicy steak on plate, butter melting, dark elegant restaurant, premium steak dinner presentation”

The Steak and Chop House at Renaissance by L.G. Smith tops the TripAdvisor steakhouse charts. USDA 1855 Black Angus and a theatrical Butcher-shop carved table. This place is popular with Aruba restaurants steakhouse fans.

Chris of Ruth at the Marriott offers USDA prime in 500 degree sizzling dishes (80-150 and up). The Ritz-Carlton BLT Steak comes out with free warm popovers and dry-aged Prime Porterhouse, which take 28 days. The Hilton is a 60-year-old Sunset Grille has just been renovated, complete with gin trolley and 300+ wine list.

What to Eat in Aruba: Must-Try Local Dishes

Avoid the chicken fingers in the resort. Aruban food is this gorgeous hodge-podge of Dutch colonial, Latin-America, and Caribbean food. These are what to eat in Aruba in case you are interested in the real stuff.

Keshi Yena (The National Dish)

“keshi yena aruba dish, stuffed cheese baked golden, sliced open showing filling, traditional Caribbean food, rustic presentation”

Hollowed Gouda or Edam circle of cheese filled with spiced chicken or beef, olives, capers, raisins and cashews then baked to bubbly. It is in keeping with the Dutch tradition and it is unbelievable. Good variants are found at Papiamento, The Old Cunucu House and the Pika corner.

Chacall (The Candy Bar)

“pastechi aruba street food, fried pastries, crispy golden snack, handheld food, casual bakery setting”

Fried half-moon pastries filled with anything up to cheese to lobster to chop suey. These are five-star street food at a price of 1-4 apiece. The places to go are Pastechi House in Oranjestad or Bright Bakery in Piedra Plat (since 1949).

Other Dinners You Should not Miss

“traditional aruban food platter, pan bati bread, funchi fried polenta, beef stew, caribbean fish soup, rustic table, local cuisine aruba”

Pan bati (cornmeal flatbread accompanied with each stew). Funchi (Arubaan polenta, fried, also golden). Stoba of all kinds: beef, goat (the most traditional), conch, chicken. Boiled fish in aroma (sopi di pisca). Ayaca (Christmas tamales in plantan leaves, November Only during November through January).

Budget-Friendly Eats: Great Food Under $25

Aruba is expensive within no time, when you remain along the resort strip. But there is the point here. The locals dine wonderfully at a fraction of the amount of money you spend. These are the good restaurants in Aruba that will not destroy your wallet.

Pika’s Corner

“local Caribbean restaurant food, grilled meat skewers, shrimp skewers, caribbean stew, casual dining, large portions, bright tropical restaurant”

This is my top choice of a budget on the island. Pika is situated on the Palm Beach drive, Noord, where it serves giant sirloin and shrimp skewers, carni stoba topped with pan bati, and cashew cake as a dessert. Two folks dine on less than 60 dollars. Rated 4.5 on TripAdvisor.

Food Trucks and Sneks

The food trucks industry in Aruba (known as truck di pan) heats up around 7 PM and last until 3 to 5 AM. The best-known is Candela on the L.G. Smith Boulevard. Full meals run $8 to $15. Sneyks (snack shops) are selling pastechis and cheese balls at 1-4 US dollars each.

Here is how the budget breaks down:

Category   Cost Per Person   Examples
Street food and trucks   $5 to $15   Candela, Julio’s Corner, Truck di Mama
Bakeries and sneks   $1 to $5 per item   Pastechi House, Bright Bakery
Budget casual   $10 to $25   La Granja, Zeerovers, Pika’s Corner
Mid-range dining   $25 to $50   The West Deck, Que Pasa, Bugaloe

Most Romantic Restaurant in Aruba: Papiamento

“romantic garden restaurant with pool, candlelight tables, fairy lights in trees, tropical night setting, elegant outdoor dining Aruba”

Papiamento is the answer whether you are planning a proposal, anniversary or even a simple date night that is different. This location has been operated by Ellis family since 1983 in a cunucu house that was constructed in 1886. It is 140 years history you are sitting in.

Tables made like candles are all around a sparkling pool in a tropical garden where strands of fairy lights are hung in trees. Their specialty is the hot stone display (mahi mahi, lobster, lamb chops, shrimp sizzling tableside). The recipe keshi yena in the family is spectacular. $60-100 per person. This does not get any more iconic than popular restaurants in Aruba.

Best Hotel Restaurants Worth Visiting

“luxury hotel beachfront dining Aruba, elegant table on sand, sunset, resort restaurant, romantic dinner setup”

I know, I know. Hotel restaurants are not a good name. And especially a couple of places in Aruba are of their own. In case you are what hotel has the best food in Aruba, this will be the place I will recommend you.

The Ritz-Carlton features BLT Steak, Living violinist (Italian), and having dinner on the beach that is personal and with a butler. This was the Hyatt Ruinas de Mar, the winner of the Best Hotel Restaurant in Aruba of the World Culinary Awards in 2024. It is arranged on a koi lagoon, which is based on the Bushiribana Gold Mill Ruins. Atardi, a pop of the Marriott, appears every night on the sand with string lights and music bands. Reserve the 6 PM solar set. Sunset Grille at Hilton has been on the island over 60 years.

Does Aruba Have Michelin Star Restaurants?

“fine dining tasting menu artistic plating, michelin style food presentation, luxury restaurant interior, gourmet dishes”

Short answer: no. As of 2026, the Michelin Guide has not spread to Aruba or any of the Caribbean islands. However, that is not the whole story. Aruba’s best restaurants  offer consistently high-quality experiences that are characterized by the reviewers as Michelin quality.

In 2025, Terra by Jeremy Ford (receiving two Michelin stars at Stubborn Seed in Miami) will begin to operate at Bucuti and Tara Resort. With the new St. Regis came another Michelin chef Akira Back. Some of the Aruban chefs have attended starred European kitchens, such as 1-star Grand Hotel Karel V chef Urvin Croes. The talent is here. The inspectors are simply yet to come.

Essential Dining Tips for Aruba

It is always better to know a couple of facts before you sit down and save money and embarrassments. These are the tricks I would like to be shared with me before I went on the first trip.

Tipping

“restaurant bill on table with service charge line, cash tip left on table, restaurant setting, travel dining concept”

In the majority of restaurants, service charge (10 per cent to 18 per cent) is automatic. All the staff pools that together and does not go directly to your server. Place an additional 5-10 percent in cash on top. In case there is no charge of service on the bill, tip 15 to 20% as in the States. Never leave before you second tip.

Reservations

“person making restaurant reservation on phone, fine dining restaurant background, sunset table setup, travel planning”

Spots in Chef in-the-house services such as Infini, 2 Fools and a Bull and The Kitchen Table require a reservation weeks or months in advance, and in many cases a credit card. Tables of waterfront sunset at Flying Fishbone and Barefoot are full of fast fill-up, as well. Food trucks and casual places such as Zeerovers are easy to walk to.

Dress Code and Payment

“man in polo shirt and woman in sundress at tropical restaurant, casual elegant dress code, beach restaurant evening”

Aruba is extremely informal. Sandals and beach covers are effective at any given location. Casual (collared shirt, sundress) at high-end establishment. Jacket is not necessary in any restaurant. USD is universally accepted. There are cash only food trucks and bakeries. Tax-Free restaurant meals.

Food budgets: the budget traveler can afford to spend between $40 and 60 in food budgets. Mid-range travelers are supposed to decide on a budget of $80-120 per day. Spending on chef tables and prime seats will be in the range of 150-300+ per day.

What Does Dining in Aruba Actually Cost?

Here is a real-world breakdown of what you will spend per person at different levels:

Dining Tier   Food Cost   With Drinks   Examples
Chef’s table tasting   $125 to $169   $200 to $280   Infini, Kitchen Table, 2 Fools
Fine dining a la carte   $50 to $100   $70 to $130   Wilhelmina, Screaming Eagle
Mid-range   $25 to $50   $35 to $65   The West Deck, Passions, Que Pasa
Budget casual   $10 to $25   $15 to $35   Zeerovers, Pika’s Corner, La Granja
Street food and trucks   $5 to $15   $8 to $20   Candela, Julio’s Corner

Daily food budgets: a budget traveler can eat well for $40 to $60 per day. Mid-range travelers should plan $80 to $120 per day. Splurging on chef’s tables and premium spots will hit $150 to $300+ per day.

Mistakes to Avoid When Dining in Aruba

I have seen tourists make all of these. Do yourself a favor and skip the learning curve.

  • Skipping reservations at chef’s tables. Places like Infini and 2 Fools fill up weeks out. If you want to eat there, book before you book flights. Not after.
  • Eating only on the resort strip. My favorite meal was fried fish that cost me 18 dollars at Zeerovers in Savaneta. Your budget on your food increases by two times when you drive 20 minutes.
  • Double-tipping by accident. Look at the service charge line in your bill then add a tip. A number of tourists put 20 percent on top of an already included 15 percent.
  • Ignoring food trucks. The culture of Aruba trucks di pan is not a back-up, but a legit eating category. The candle of the middle of the night is worth more than any 100-dollar dinner.
  • Not trying local food. Keshi yena, pastechi, pan bati. You have not been to Aruba without trying them.

Frequently Asked Questions About Restaurants in Aruba

What should I must eat in Aruba?

The national dish is called keishi yena, and it must be taken. It is merely a stuffed cheese wheel with spiced meat, olives and raisins and subsequently baked. The next step is to get pastechi in any bakery (1-4 dollars each), fried fish in Zeerovers and pan bati and funchi as side dishes. In the case of seafood, wahoo reigns.

Does Aruba have any Michelin star restaurants?

Not officially. In 2026, the Michelin Guide has not reached Aruba yet. However, two restaurants that are run by real Michelin-starred chefs are now operating in the island: Terra by Jeremy Ford (two Stars) and Akira Back at the St. Regis. Some other local chefs attended starred European kitchens, as well. It is there with the quality, not the inspectors.

What hotel has the best food in Aruba?

Ritz-Carlton switches it with BLT Steak, Casa Nonna, and dinners in a private beach. The Ruinas del Mar at the Hyatt was the winner of the 2024 award of best hotel restaurant on the island in the world culinary awards. The latest media piece to shine through is Terra by Jeremy Ford by Bucuti and Tara. The atmosphere of the Marriott beachfront at sunset can be difficult to match.

What should I stay away from in Aruba food-wise?

Do not eat at hotel buffets only. You will pay too much and miss the actual food scene. Watch out of the massively tourist oriented restaurants along the cruise port that offer resort prices despite offering mediocre food. Just go where people eat and that is it. In addition, avoid drinking tap water of old homes. Bottled is cheap and omnipresent.

How much should I budget for food in Aruba per day?

Budget fliers will be able to mix food trucks, bakeries, and one casual restaurant at around 40 to 60 dollars per day. Mid-range is $80 to $120 per day. You have to do chefs table and high end spots, then do 150 and more a day. Beer and rum cocktails costs me an extra 20 to 50 dollars depending on the quantity of drinks that I enjoy at Balashi.

Do I need reservations for restaurants in Aruba?

In the case of chefs table restaurants such as Infini, 2 Fools and a Bull, and The Kitchen Table, you must have to make a reservation weeks or months in advance. Hot places such as Flying Fishbone and Barefoot, which are the most popular in the waterfront, should be booked in advance, more so on sunset tables. Informal premises such as Zeerovers, corners of Pika and food trucks are on a walk in basis.

Is tipping expected at restaurants in Aruba?

The majority of sit-down restaurants automatically impose a 10% -18% service charge to your bill. This is held among employees. Give your server an extra 5-10 percent in cash. In case no delivery fee is shown, tip 15-20%. Always look at the bill first before making an addition.

What are the best restaurants in Aruba for couples?

The typical romantic choice is papiamento that has the candle-lit poolside garden in a 140-year-old cunucu house. Flying Fishbone gets you at a table in the ocean. Passions on the Beach Eagle Beach tiki torches on the sand. On a very great indulgence, The Kitchen Table or 2 Fools and a Bull provide experiences that should be shared once in a lifetime.

What are the best restaurants in Aruba on the water?

Flying Fishbone in Savaneta (in the water, tables literally). Zeerovers (dining-over-the-ocean). Passions on the Beach (sand-dining at the beach of Eagles). The Old Man and the Sea (individual over-water cabana). Bugaloe (palm beach pier bar). Pelican Nest (raised pier above the water at Holiday Inn).

Are there good budget restaurants in Aruba?

Yes, tons. Zeerovers caters to two at 36. Pika corner has giant plates half for less than thirty dollars with two. La Granja costs approximately 25 USD to do a entire rotisserie chicken including sides. Food trucks such as Candela have full meals at prices of $8 to 15. Pastechi are sold by bakeries between 1 and 4 dollars. You do not need to spend a lot before you can eat well here.

What is the food scene like in Oranjestad?

Oranjestad has evolved to become a true culinary hub. Wilhelminastraat also has two restaurants with the best food on the island (Wilhelmina and Carte Blanche) and the annual Autentico Aruba Culinary Festival. They also revitalized the harbourfront by adding new pier-to-plate seafood restaurants. Que Pasa, The West Deck, and L.G. Smith are the culmination of a robust collection of the top restaurants in Aruba.

What is the best time to visit Aruba to eat?

The high season is during December and up to April when all restaurants are full to the brim. Bookings are the most difficult ones to secure. Better availability, lower prices in certain locations, and equally superb food may be found through the month of May into August. September and October are slow months and some restaurants are shut down to conduct some maintenance. The Autentico Aruba Culinary Festival normally runs at the beginning of the year at the Wilhelminastraat.

Final Thoughts

In 2026 the food of Aruba is much more than a buffet in a resort. This is a valid food destination; eight chef table experiences, Michelin trained chefs who establish permanent stores, and a regenerated Oranjestad harbourfront.

Shake it: a splurge night at Infini, sunset at Flying fishbone, fried fish at Zeerovers, late night food trucks. It is the way you could be stuffed through the best restaurants in Aruba.
